Characters

The heroes who will shape the fate of worlds. The threat that follows. Some you'll meet in Book 1. Others are still waiting in the shadows.

The CMYK Prime System

In ZaroVerse, the fundamental forces of creation follow CMYK — three flavors of living light against one consuming darkness. Yellow is the sun (warmth). Cyan is electricity (structure). Magenta is aurora (transformation). Black is the void (hunger).

Yellow Prime

Zaro

The Spark

A tiny living lantern trying very hard to stay brave.

Zaro - The Yellow Prime, a being of living light with warm golden skin

A being of living light who condensed into warm, golden skin — the way an angel might descend and choose a body. Zaro emerged from the Container after it crashed through Earth's atmosphere, carrying the last hope of a civilization that understood something precious must survive. He doesn't remember where he came from. He only knows he woke up here — warm, curious, and determined to protect what he's found.

Known Abilities

  • Spark Shield — defensive barrier of living light
  • Spark Push — displacement wave that clears threats
  • Spark Dome — protective boundary around home base
  • NOT OVER — when pushed to absolute limits, ignites the spare tank. Overdrive turns him supernova: pure white, blinds everything in range

Unknowns

  • Where did he come from? (No memories. Only instincts.)
  • Why was the Seed Core sent to Earth?
  • What happens when all three Primes unite?

Role in the Story

Zaro is the heart of the story. Not the strongest, but what's worth fighting for. His journey is about discovering why he was sent to this world - and what it will cost to protect it.

Cyan Prime

ARC-7

The Guardian

Transformers meets Tron. The light that powers systems.

ARC-7 - The Cyan Prime, at peak overclock

A watcher from the ARC Realm — a dimension of pure structure and law. ARC-7 has observed countless worlds fall to The Ink. He detected the Container's signal and has been tracking it since before impact. He is not silent. He is measured. When he speaks, every word carries weight.

Known Abilities

  • Bound by seven rules — especially Rule Seven: "Do not cross worlds"
  • Scans and traces threats as data across dimensional barriers
  • Projects containment fields — teal geometric grids, cages, walls
  • Seals breaches like no one else can
  • Breaking Rule Seven creates a permanent scar in reality — the Veil Tunnel

Unknowns

  • What will it cost him when duty and compassion collide?
  • What did he witness across all those fallen worlds?

Role in the Story

ARC-7 represents the tension between duty and compassion. He sees more than he can act upon. His struggle is ancient: following rules vs. doing what's right when the rules aren't enough.

Human Ally

Kai

MagDust Operator

Hold the world together.

Kai — teen builder, holding a glowing spark

A 15-year-old builder who thinks with his hands. Kai has been taking things apart since he could hold a screwdriver — his garage is a workshop, his pockets are full of magnets, and his best friend is Mina, who he met arguing at a science fair when they were 13. Through the MagDust Glove — a heavy electromagnetic gauntlet co-built with ARC-7 — he shapes magnetic dust into walls, shields, and structures. He didn't ask for this fight, but you don't burn what people build. That's the line.

Known Abilities

  • MagDust Glove on his right hand — big, thick, industrial (houses the EM pulse generator)
  • Shapes magnetic dust into walls, shields, platforms, stairs, braces, pipes
  • Signature move: IRON BALL — compresses MagDust into one heavy sphere for a single devastating smash (30–60 second recharge)
  • Teal circuitry lines on the glove pulse when active — ARC-7's contribution

Unknowns

  • Can patience save more than speed?
  • What happens when the thing he builds isn't enough?
Kai with MagDust Glove — industrial electromagnetic gauntlet with teal circuitry

MagDust Glove (Phase 2 — Chapter 7+)

A single heavy electromagnetic glove on Kai's right hand. Bulky by necessity — it houses the pulse generator that controls MagDust. Reinforced wrist cuff. Teal circuitry lines glow when active. Co-built with ARC-7. Looks hand-built, not factory-made. Her tech is jewelry. His tech is a tool.

Limits

Requires MagDust in environmentLarger constructs drain fasterDistraction means collapseGlove can overheat with heavy sustained use
Human Ally

Mina

Fireflies Commander

Command under pressure.

Mina — teen strategist with AR glasses and reddish-brown hair

A 15-year-old science-obsessed strategist who was already building drones before any of this started. Mina sees patterns everywhere — she maps paths, tracks anomalies, notices when the forest sounds change before anyone else does. Through the Fireflies system — a bracelet, finger sensors, sensor drones, and a single-eye AR glass, co-built with ARC-7 — she commands a swarm that gives her eyes everywhere. She doesn't just react. She predicts.

Known Abilities

  • Fireflies bracelet on her left wrist (Mina is left-handed) — looks like jewelry, controls the swarm
  • Five thin wires to finger sensors on her left hand — she conducts the swarm like a musician
  • Single-eye AR glass on her right eye — overlays threat data, energy readings, and Ink traces
  • Three vision modes: External Collective View, Individual Drone POV, Combined Spatial Scan

Unknowns

  • What happens when data isn't enough?
  • Can she learn to trust before she understands?
Mina with Fireflies system — AR glass, bracelet, finger sensors, and sensor drones

Fireflies System (Phase 2 — Chapter 7+)

A three-component personal tech system co-built with ARC-7. Sleek bracelet on her left wrist that looks like jewelry, not tech. Five thin wires run to finger sensors on her left hand — elegant, chain-like. Single-eye AR glass on the right eye (not goggles). The Fireflies themselves are small autonomous sensor drones — smooth glowing orbs, neutral white light. They scan, shield, spark, and light paths.

Limits

Cannot detect dormant/hibernating InkCombined Spatial Scan causes fatigueTemporary balance loss on disconnectBattery drain real — drones recharge near Spark DustRange effective in ZaroLand, weaker at distance
Magenta PrimeBook 2

Magenta

She's not chaos. She's change with attitude.

Magenta Prime — aurora placeholder. Final design not yet revealed.Placeholder · Not final

She hasn't arrived yet. But somewhere in deep space, a streak of magenta light changed its trajectory. Eyes opened. Not menace. Curiosity. She's coming.

Known Traits

  • Aurora — beautiful instability
  • The sky misbehaving
  • Transformation force

When

Arrives in Book 2. The third Prime who completes the color spectrum. When Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow unite, they create White — the only answer to absolute darkness.

Cosmic Fungus

The Ink

Conscript of Darkness

The Ink - A cosmic fungus spreading darkness

A cosmic fungus that spreads like silence. It cannot create - only consume. The Ink followed the frequency of hope across galaxies, patient and hungry, learning to absorb light itself. What it touches loses warmth. What it holds long enough stops fighting. But The Ink is not the true enemy - it answers to something far older: the Black Hole.

Known Abilities

  • Spreads through darkness and absence
  • Adapts to every defense over time
  • Absorbs light and corrupts what it touches
  • Serves the Black Hole's hunger

Unknowns

  • How did the Black Hole create it?
  • Can it be separated from its master?
  • Is there intelligence beneath the hunger?

Role in the Story

The Ink is not the big bad - it's the advance guard. A conscript of the Black Prime. It represents the fear that the enemy you see is never the true enemy. Something worse waits in the void.

Black Prime (K)

The Black Hole

The True Enemy

The Black Hole - The true enemy, ultimate entropy

The K in CMYK. While Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow are living light — warmth, structure, and transformation — the Black Hole is the absence. It cannot create light. Without stealing, it weakens and breaks apart. It is 'All for One.' It consumes. It does not share. It does not simply consume light. It feeds on it. Patient. Gravitational. Silent. The Ink is its reach and its senses — when the fungus touches a world, the Black Hole feels it.

Known Abilities

  • The source of all entropy
  • Commands The Ink and other conscripts
  • Feeds on light — patient, gravitational, silent
  • The opponent the three Primes must face together

Unknowns

  • What created the Black Hole?
  • Can anything survive its presence?
  • What happens when CMY combines to create White?

Role in the Story

The Black Hole is the endgame. The reason why three Primes must unite. It represents the ultimate test: can hope, structure, and transformation together create something strong enough to counter absolute darkness? The answer is White - if they can achieve it.
